We’re officially in the thick of December and as we head into the holiday season, if you’re like me, you’re probably opting for a routine of cozy, at-home pieces. Lately, my go-to pairing of a sweater and jeans has worked as my on-duty and off-duty uniform. So while my second-skin sweaters are working overtime, I’m finding that I need a few more knitwear options for my winter weather rotation. Enter, the double-knit.
I’m calling this a chic mashup of intentional sweater layering, you know the one that’s been gracing all of our social feeds, that is a perfectly calculated way to upgrade a single sweater. This “tie front” or “ layered” trend humbly appeared on FW ’19 runways and, now, has become more streamlined as a deconstructed, unexpected styling moment. I’m planning to lean on this look for extra warmth, but also to shake up my knitwear and avoid a winter style rut.
So, if you’re in the mood to ditch singular crewnecks, below are the layered sweaters I’m eyeing to add to my collection to avoid closet fatigue!
